A cleaner, more transparent way to discover Android apps
APKApps is an independent Android app discovery and APK archive platform. We surface what matters — package names, versions, file sizes, hashes, permissions, and download status — so you can make informed decisions before installing anything on your device.
1Our mission
Android is the most-used operating system on earth, but information about its apps is fragmented across stores, forums, and archives — often hidden behind ads or dark patterns. APKApps was built around a simple idea: app discovery should be transparent, fast, and respectful of the user's time and device.
We aim to be the place where you can search for an Android app, see exactly what it is and where it came from, verify the file you're about to install, and read clear, honest descriptions — without being pushed through dozens of pop-ups or hand-rolled redirects.
2What APKApps does
APKApps organizes Android app listings, technical metadata, and APK archive inventory into a single searchable platform covering phones, tablets, Android TV, Android Auto, and other Android-based devices. Every listing aims to give you:
✓
IdentityPackage name, version code, version name, and developer info.
✓
File factsFile size, SHA-256 hash, signature, and minimum SDK.
✓
PermissionsThe Android permissions the app declares — visible up front.
✓
VisualsIcons and screenshots when available, with sensible fallbacks.
✓
CompatibilityForm-factor flags for Phone, TV, Auto, Wear and tablets.
✓
ProvenanceWhere the listing came from and when it was last updated.
3Main sections of the site
Apps — Curated Android app listings with full metadata, screenshots, categories, and rich descriptions. This is the main user-facing experience.
TV — Apps focused on Android TV and streaming devices. Listings here are flagged for leanback compatibility and remote-friendly UX.
Archive — Raw APK inventory with limited metadata. Useful for advanced users, researchers, collectors, and anyone hunting for older or harder-to-find package versions.
Submit — A pipeline for developers and curators to submit new APKs for review.
Curated vs. archive
Curated pages are reviewed and enriched — archive pages are not. We deliberately keep the two separated so the main experience stays clean while long-tail inventory remains accessible.
4How we approach quality
Every curated listing goes through automated and manual checks. We verify the APK can be parsed, capture its package metadata, compute a SHA-256 hash, and store the file in cold storage. Listings that look incomplete, suspicious, or duplicated are held for review.
We don't pretend our archive is exhaustive or perfect. What we do promise is to be honest about what each listing is, where it came from, and what we know about it.
5Independence & how we operate
APKApps is operated independently. We are not affiliated with Google, the Android Open Source Project, the Android Robot logo, or any individual developer or studio whose apps may be listed on the site.
Trademarks, app names, and logos belong to their respective owners. We display them under nominative fair use to identify the apps being described, and we will always honor a verified takedown request — see our DMCA page.
